Tom’s Kitchen Canary Wharf was part of Tom Aikens' casual dining group. This site was huge and occupied the entire ground floor of a newly refurbished 60s office block. The site was divided into a restaurant, bar, deli and private dining space.

 

 

The biggest design challenge was that the existing shell was completely devoid of character.

Having nothing to work with meant that all the character and warmth of the restaurant had to come from the design. A simple material palette was chosen full of natural materials that would all embody this much-needed character.

 
 

 

We broke up the space through fixed seating, columns and a polished concreted pathway that ran the length of the restaurant.
