A work in progress design for a new 182 key hotel in Liverpool, due to start on site in 2024.
The design is inspired by Liverpool whilst avoiding any thematic or pastiche cliches. It centres on the heart of Liverpool – a working city with an industrial past that is being reclaimed by its people who are elevating the city with a vibrant cultural scene set against Liverpool’s functional history.
Sustainability dominates both the design and specifications as the hotel sets out to achieve whole life net zero carbon.
There is a focus on reuse rather than “sustainable”, virgin materials. We are reusing reclaimed materials and objects but also repurposing waste products. We have taken the idea of “repurposing” one step further – using the waste materials involved in the construction and production of the building and its materials as finishes.
